Document Identification Number

DIN, it is after PAN, TIN etc... India tax department used to have code for tax prcessing purposes, now there is Document Identification Number acronym DIN, which is compulsory for filing returns and making any communication with the Income Tax department (Read more: DIN: New number must to file returns), India I.T. Dept will soon start distributing DIN.

For this purpose Aykar Sampark Kendras aka Income tax Contact Centers are authorised to provide DIN which must be mentioned in respect of every notice, order, letter or any correspondence with the it department by the taxpayers.

BTW PAN is Permanent Account Number and TAN is Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number used for Indian Tax procedures.

So India get set go to grab Document Identification Number earliest!
